Vernissage Mine, Yours, Ours
Anna Forgách

In the work Mine, Yours, Ours, the past, present, and future are compressed into photographs, where the artist’s introspection merges with an exploration of the life paths and stories of her family and wider environment. The project contains eleven photo books and each one offers a sensitive and enigmatic testimony to life paths, including the artist’s own.

Forgách’s self-reflective, biographical, and narrative exploration is rooted in logotherapy. This psychological movement, developed by psychiatrist Viktor Frankl, views life as a continuous search for meaning. Logotherapy, derived from the Greek ‘logos' (meaning) and ‘therapy’, primarily works with language, which Anna converts into the language of photography, inventing a sort of ‘image-formulation’. The photographs were created in close collaboration with the participants, who were not only subjects, but co-creators in the process. This mutual exploration was structured around the method of ‘guided autobiography' a self-awareness technique from logotherapy, developed by psychiatrist Elisabeth Lukas, a student of Viktor Frankl.
